Before your license expiration date
16 hours every 2 years
Tennessee licensees renew every two years with 16 hours of continuing education, including the TREC Core course. Live classes in Bean Station and online options both count when the course is approved.

30-hour Course for New Affiliates
New affiliate brokers complete the 30-hour post-license course before their first renewal. It covers the contracts, agency and practice issues you face in your first deals.

60-hour Principles course
The 60-hour course qualifies you for the state exam. After you pass, you affiliate with a principal broker and apply for your license.

Practice-focused clinics
Not every class has to be for credit. The Deal Clinic works through real contracts and transactions with an instructor so you write cleaner offers.
See the Deal Clinic →It depends on where you are. To get licensed: a 60-hour Principles course before the PSI exam. After licensing: a 30-hour Course for New Affiliates before your first renewal. After that: 16 hours of continuing education every two years, including the TREC Core course.
Yes, when the course is approved by the Tennessee Real Estate Commission for that delivery format. Always check the approval before you pay — an unapproved course will not count toward your license or renewal.
Approved hours count the same either way. Many agents prefer live classes because they can ask questions about their own deals and meet other local agents.
Live classes meet at 233 Main Street, Bean Station, TN 37708, serving agents across Morristown, Knoxville, the Tri-Cities and the rest of East Tennessee.
